Product description
Stålplast Flexible is a 2-component polyester filler whose filler material is composed to ensure the filler is highly homogeneous yet flexible, easy to sand, and features excellent adhesion. The filler can withstand stove enameling without losing its performance or elasticity.
Area of application:
Stålplast Flexible is used for repairing sheet metal damage on cars and caravans, for certain repairs on boats, and for bonding and repairing iron, ceramic, stone, steel, wood, etc.
Pretreatment:
The filler should only be used on dry and well-cleaned surfaces. Sand the repair area clean with sandpaper to remove rust and loose paint. Remove oil and grease with thinner.
Mixing:
Stålplast Flexible comp. A is mixed thoroughly with 2–3% hardener comp. B on, for example, a mixing board or plate until a homogeneous color is achieved. Do not mix more at a time than can be used within 4–5 minutes. At high temperatures (+150°C), mix in approx. 1% hardener.
Application:
Stålplast Flexible is applied with a steel or rubber putty knife. The optimal working temperature is +20°C. The working time is then about 4 minutes and the curing time about 15 minutes. Clean tools and the mixing plate after use with ethyl acetate or thinner.
Post-treatment:
After approx. 15–20 minutes, Stålplast Flexible is ready for sanding. Using a body file or sandpaper (P.80 or finer), the cured plastic can be sanded smooth.

Which surfaces is Stålplast Flexible suitable for?
The filler is suitable for sheet metal damage on cars and caravans, boats, and for bonding and repairing iron, ceramic, stone, steel, and wood. It is particularly suitable where the surface is exposed to vibrations or movement.
How long does the filler last?
The shelf life is 18 months in an unopened package. Applied filler lasts as long as the surrounding paint system if treated correctly.
What does 2-component filler mean?
You mix comp. A (the filler) with 2–3% comp. B (the hardener) on a mixing board until a homogeneous color is obtained. Only mix as much as you can use within 4–5 minutes.
How much filler do I need?
The filler is applied in thin layers. For single sheet metal damages, 180 ml is enough for many repairs. Choose 550 ml for larger jobs or multiple damages.
What temperature can I apply the filler in?
The optimal working temperature is +20°C. At higher temperatures, the curing speed increases – at +150°C (stove enameling), mix in approx. 1% hardener instead of 2–3%.
Do I need to prime before filling?
The surface should be dry, cleaned, and free from rust and loose paint. Sand with sandpaper and degrease with thinner. A separate primer is generally not required for this filler.

Can I do the filling myself or do I need a painter?

Application
Mix comp. A with 2–3% comp. B until a homogeneous color is obtained – only mix as much as will be consumed within 4–5 minutes. Apply with a steel or rubber putty knife in thin layers. Let dry for 15–20 minutes. Sand with a body file or P.80 grit or finer. Clean tools with ethyl acetate or thinner immediately after use.
