-The wall should be solid and clean, with no loose wallpaper flakes or filler dust.
-If you have not removed all old layers of wallpaper, which is recommended, it is a good idea to seal the wall by painting it with an insulating/blocking primer. You do this to reduce the risk of the old wallpaper bubbling under the new wallpaper. Suitable paint includes Sigma Isotop Primer or Jotun’s primer for wallpaper. Once painted, lightly sand the surface and wash it down with sugar soap.
-Where applicable, prime the wall, preferably white. The entire wall must be a uniform shade if the wallpaper is of the type described in point 3 above.
