-The wall must be firm and clean, with no loose wallpaper flakes or filler dust.

-If you have not removed all old wallpaper layers, which is recommended, it is a good idea to seal the wall by painting it with an insulating/blocking paint. This is done to reduce the risk of the old wallpaper bubbling under the new wallpaper. Suitable paint is Sigma Isotop Primer or Jotun's primer for wallpaper. Once painted, sand lightly and wipe down with a paint cleaner.

-Where applicable, prime the wall, preferably white. The entire wall must be the same shade if the wallpaper is of the type mentioned in point 3 above.
