Description
Tinova Traditional Exterior is an alkyd oil-based paint intended for exterior painting on wooden facades. The oil-based opaque paint highlights the wood's texture and provides an opaque and even surface on both old and new wooden facades.
Tinova Traditional Exterior, when used in a system with Tinova Wood Base Oil and Tinova Traditional Primer Exterior, results in a lifespan of up to 8 years.
Treatment
The substrate must be well-cleaned and dry (max 16% moisture content).
Product Description
New painting
1. Impregnate with Tinova Wood Base Oil, especially end grains and exposed parts of the construction. Tinova Wood Base Oil can advantageously be used on the entire construction.
2. Prime the entire surface with Tinova Traditional Primer Exterior
3. Apply 2 coats of Tinova Traditional Exterior as the finish
Repainting
1. Wash the surface with Original Målartvätt (Paint Cleaner). If there is growth of mold/algae, the surface must be treated with Original Hustvätt (House Wash). Rinse thoroughly with water. Let the surface dry before continuing to paint.
2. Scrape away all old loose paint down to a firm substrate. Sand glossy surfaces to ensure good adhesion. Gray wood must be sanded down to firm, healthy wood.
3. Impregnate bare wood surfaces first with Tinova Wood Base Oil. Then prime with Tinova Traditional Primer Exterior.
4. Apply 2 coats of Tinova Traditional Exterior as the finish. Previously glazed surfaces should be washed/brushed and finished with 2 coats of Tinova Traditional Exterior. If necessary, prime first with Tinova Traditional Primer Exterior.
Other
Stir the can thoroughly before starting work. Do not paint in direct sunlight or if there is a risk of rain or dew within the next few hours after completing the work.
