Water-repellent deck stain that provides a nice, matte finish.
Herregård Terrassebeis Vattenspädbar is a water-based oil stain intended for outdoor use on decks and garden furniture made of pressure-treated wood. It contains pigments that protect the wood against degradation from sunlight and a film preservative against mold. It penetrates well and prevents the substrate from cracking.
Instructions
Pre-treatment
The substrate must be clean and dry. New pressure-treated wood should dry for a few weeks up to 1–2 months. Rinse and brush away any remaining impregnation residues. Clean with Gjøco Deck Cleaner (Gjøco Terasstvätt) and let dry thoroughly. Grey, weathered surfaces should be wire-brushed or sanded down to fresh wood – loose splinters and grey wood hinder penetration and can cause peeling.
Application
Apply with a sponge, roller, or brush along the entire length of the board, 1–2 boards at a time. The stain must penetrate the wood – avoid film formation, as this can lead to peeling. Wipe away any excess. Avoid application in strong sunlight, humid weather, or at low temperatures. Ensure that no rain is expected within the first 24 hours.
Storage & waste disposal
Store upright, dry, and frost-free with the lid tightly closed. Liquid stain must be taken to an approved collection point for hazardous waste.

Which surfaces is Herregård Terrassebeis V suitable for?
The product is developed for decks and garden furniture made of pressure-treated wood outdoors. It is not suitable for painted or lacquered surfaces.
Can I choose a color?
Yes! The stain is supplied as Base C and tinted to your desired color. See our color chart for available shades. Keep in mind that the color will vary depending on the color of the substrate and the number of coats.
How long does the stain last?
The service life depends on exposure, wood species, and the condition of the substrate. Generally, maintenance treatment is recommended every two years for the best protection against weather wear and greying.
How much do I need?
Expect approx. 6–10 m² per liter on planed timber. Porous or rough wood will absorb more. Always perform a test application to check the color.
What temperature can I apply it in?
At least +10 °C. Low temperatures result in significantly longer drying times. Avoid application during low nighttime temperatures in the spring and autumn.
Do I need to prime?
No, Herregård Terrassebeis V serves as both a primer and a topcoat on clean, dry, pressure-treated wood. Highly absorbent substrates may require two coats.
Is the product environmentally friendly?
The product is water-dilutable, which makes it gentler on the environment than solvent-based alternatives. However, liquid residues are classified as hazardous waste and must be taken to an approved collection facility.
Can I apply it myself, or do I need a painter?
You can easily apply it yourself using a sponge, roller, or brush. Follow the pre-treatment instructions carefully – a clean and dry substrate is the key to a successful result.
