Description
Utegrund Classic is a traditional penetrating alkyd-based primer with high water resistance for outdoor wood. The paint has high coverage and offers excellent penetration, adhesion, and fullness. Utegrund Classic is the primer that performs well in all contexts for all our outdoor wood paint types and ensures a good, long-lasting painting result.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Before painting
Always start by reading the instructions on the paint can and remember to be meticulous from the beginning. Good tools and thorough surface preparation are the prerequisites for a successful painting result. Stir the paint well from the bottom before you start painting. Air and surface temperature are also important for the final result. Do not paint if it is colder than +5°C. The surface must be clean, dry, and firm. Brush or scrape away loose and old paint. Wash previously painted surfaces with facade and mold cleaner and rinse with water. If the surface is infested with mold, it must be treated with a suitable biocide.
Painting
Apply one or two coats with a roller, brush, or, after thinning, a sprayer. For better penetration, the first coat can be thinned with 5% white spirit. It is better to paint several thin coats, with a day of drying time in between, than a few thick coats. Avoid painting on hot and sun-exposed surfaces. For new painting, at least two coats are recommended. After the primer has dried thoroughly, the surface is finished with one of our products for outdoor wood.
After painting
Wipe tools thoroughly before cleaning in white spirit. Close the can tightly after use and store out of reach of children. Liquid paint residue must not be poured into the drain but should be taken to your local recycling center. Protect the environment, that's what we do.
