Description
FOILTAC 1C is an assembly adhesive for applying waterproofing foil in the Bostik waterproofing system for wet rooms. The assembly adhesive is used to bond waterproofing foil, waterproofing strips, pipe collars, and inner and outer corners. Approved for ceramic wet room constructions according to the Swedish Building Ceramics Council’s industry regulations (BBV).
SUBSTRATE & WORKING INSTRUCTIONS
Wet room boards or mineral substrates (render and concrete). The substrate must meet the requirements of current BBV industry standards and be free from dust and contaminants.
Mixing:
Pour 4 liters of water into a clean bucket and mix in all the powder from the bag (10 kg) using a mixing paddle (by volume: 1.9 liters of powder to 1 liter of water). Mix for 2 minutes until a lump-free mass is achieved. The mixture must be used within 3 hours.
Absorbent substrates must be primed with Bostik Primer 6000 (for wall boards, dilute the primer with 10% water; for concrete floors and self-leveling compounds, dilute the primer with 3 parts water to 1 part primer).
Once the primer has dried, apply a generous layer of the assembly adhesive using a roller (0.6 kg/m2).
The waterproofing foil is installed into the wet assembly adhesive, and any excess is pressed out (from the center towards the sides) using a plastic spreader.
Do not roll adhesive onto larger areas than you can cover with foil within 10 minutes (normally one sheet at a time).
Foil overlaps, waterproofing strips, pipe collars, and corners are installed using the same assembly adhesive. All seals and edges/joints are sealed with the assembly adhesive.
Measure and cut the foil sheets in advance and install one sheet at a time. It is important to press out any air bubbles.
Drying time before tiling at +20°C and 50% RH is at least 6 hours.
