Description:
T-Flex is a high-performance original tape with long-standing experience in the market. Used as a moisture and air sealing tape indoors and outdoors. For example, for joints, penetrations, or damage to building foil (air and vapor barriers), vapor retarders, wind protection (non-woven, T-Vind/- Super), wind protection boards (several types), SPU boards, wood, glass, metal, etc. Harmful moisture and vapor are prevented from being transported in or out of sensitive building components (prevents convection and diffusion), and it serves as weather protection on the exterior of the building envelope. Counteracts energy losses (heat leakage) in insulated structures. Used in systems mounted on the inner or outer part of the building envelope. The version with a split release liner (slotted) is optimal for taping in corners. The T-Flex sealing tape has good, long-term age resistance, is approved, P-marked, and free from solvents, chlorine, and formaldehyde.
Important
• Bear in mind that movements in the substrate should be minimized for the best durability, and test the adhesion to the substrate before installation.
• The substrate must be clean (consider surface treatments), free of grease (silicone-free), dry, and smooth. Follow the recommended working temperature for best results.
• Do not subject the tape to excessive elastic strain, as it always tries to return to its original shape and width.
• Consider forces and movements in the underlying foil (or membrane). Especially in free-hanging and unfixed substrates where temperature fluctuations (e.g., temporarily higher temperatures during the construction phase) can create stresses and movements in the tape joint, affecting it by its own weight! Ensure the substrate is fixed according to the associated installation instructions or reinforce the taping (support taping, wider tape) to correspond to the extra load that may occur!
• The tape should be stored in a heated warehouse before installation for the best results.
• When taping at lower temperatures: The tape will reach its final strength when the temperature is above 5° C. When processing at lower temperatures, the initial pressure is lower and must therefore be compensated for with higher pressure during application. In general, tape applications should be free from tensile stress. This should be particularly considered at low processing temperatures.
• To ensure age resistance, the tape must be stored, or if already installed in the operating environment, protected from sunlight (UV radiation) and not exposed to temperatures above +35° C.
• For outdoor use in conjunction with wind protection materials, the tape should not be exposed openly to sunlight (UV radiation) for more than a maximum of 4 months. Earlier facade covering is always to be preferred.
• For identification, always tape up the first piece with the brand label visible!
