Stålplast Fine is used for paint and sheet metal work where high demands are placed on surface finish. Suitable for both regular and galvanized sheet metal. Also used for gluing and repairing most hard materials.
Pre-treatment:
The filler should only be used on dry and well-cleaned surfaces free from grease, oil, dirt, and similar substances. Degrease with, for example, Hagmans Silicone Remover S and wipe off. In case of rust damage, sand the surface with the coarsest P.80 grit. Matt the surface with P.180–240 grit to avoid damaging the galvanization. After sanding, degrease the surface again.
Instructions for use:
Stålplast comp. A is mixed with 2–3% comp. B on a glass plate, sheet of metal, or similar until a homogeneous color is obtained. Do not overdose! Do not mix more at a time than can be used within approx. 4 minutes.
Application:
Stålplast Fine is applied with a metal or rubber spreader. The best working temperature is +20°C. The working time is then approx. 3–4 minutes, and the filler is sandable after approx. 12–15 minutes. After use, clean the work tools with thinner or ethyl acetate.
Finishing:
After approx. 12–15 minutes at +20°C, the filler is ready for sanding. With sandpaper of P.180 grit or finer, the cured plastic can be sanded smooth. Finish with P.320 grit or finer to avoid sanding marks in the subsequent treatment.

How long does the filler last?
The shelf life is 1 year at room temperature in an unopened package. Applied filler will last as long as the surrounding paint system if treated correctly.
What does a 2-component filler mean?
You mix comp. A (the filler) with 2–3% comp. B (the hardener) on a glass plate or sheet of metal until a homogeneous color is obtained. Only mix as much as you can use within approx. 4 minutes.
How much filler do I need?
The filler is applied in thin layers. For fine finishing of individual damages, 180 ml is sufficient for many repairs. Choose 550 ml for larger jobs.
At what temperature can I apply the filler?
The best working temperature is +20°C. Lower temperatures extend gel time and drying time. Avoid application in direct sunlight or on overheated surfaces.
Do I need to prime before I fill?
The surface must be well-cleaned and degreased. In case of rust damage, sand down to a clean base and prime with a suitable anti-corrosive primer. Galvanized sheet metal should be matted with P.180–240 grit without grinding through the galvanization.
