The Pad Saver is a thin interface pad developed to protect and extend the life of the backup pad. The Pad Saver is placed between the backup pad and the sanding disc and should be replaced regularly for best results.

Mirka's Pad Saver is used during sanding operations with Mirka's Abranet sanding products. Abranet's thin construction wears on the sander's backup pad during continuous and aggressive sanding. The Pad Saver reduces wear, making the pad last longer.
The durability of a Pad Saver varies depending on what is being sanded, how it is sanded, and how it is handled. Generally, you replace the Pad Saver when you notice it starting to wear out. Changing the Pad Saver frequently (15-30 discs/Pad Saver) minimizes wear on the backup pad.
