Pre-treatment
The substrate must be clean, dry, and free from dust, dirt, grease, oil, and loose particles. For flake and colored sand coatings: check that the coating is fully cured and dry according to the manufacturer's instructions. Sand the surface lightly with fine-grit sandpaper to create better adhesion. Vacuum and wipe clean thoroughly. The surface must be completely dry and free from contaminants before application. Humidity should be between 40-70% for optimal curing.
Application
Stir the varnish thoroughly before use. Apply Topcoat PU 4020 with a roller or brush in even, thin coats. Work systematically across the surface and avoid pausing. Apply 2-3 thin coats with 12-24 hours between them for best results. Sand lightly between coats with fine-grit sandpaper for optimal adhesion. Ventilate well during application and curing. Avoid application in direct sunlight or at temperatures below +10°C. The floor can be walked on after 24 hours, but full curing takes 7 days. Avoid heavy loads during the curing time. Clean tools with a suitable solvent immediately after use.
