Sheet Metal Primer is a water-borne, acrylate-based primer with effective anti-corrosion pigments. Sheet Metal Primer is used for treating metal surfaces, primarily in combination with Grip On Sheet Metal Roof Paint.
Area of application
Sheet Metal Primer is used for treating rusty metal surfaces as well as untreated aluminum, primarily in combination with Grip On Sheet Metal Roof Paint, Roof Coating Paint, and Aquabarr®. In connection with Grip On Shot, Sheet Metal Primer is used on all unpainted sheet metal surfaces.
Pre-treatment
The surface must be clean, dry, and firm. Rust damage should be sanded/wire-brushed down to bare metal. Wash the surface with Hagmans Roof/Facade Cleaner. Newer galvanized sheet metal should be etched with Hagmans Etching Liquid, followed by thorough rinsing. Any residues of chalking and oxidation (white rust) are cleaned with Hagmans Etching Liquid. Then rinse thoroughly with water.
