Description
Iron vitriol is a stain used on untreated or impregnated wood to provide a color similar to what nature gives untreated timber over time. In combination with the Activator, the staining provides immediate results and is a simple alternative for a cost-effective and maintenance-free treatment.

Instructions:
• One package of Activator is mixed into 10 liters of warm water. Dissolves at approx. 40-50 degrees Celsius.
• Stir the mixture thoroughly and apply with a brush or pressure sprayer.
• Start applying from the bottom of the panel as evenly as possible. If necessary, a few drops of dish soap/soft soap can be added for better penetration.
• Let the treatment dry before applying Iron Vitriol.
The Activator can be applied in frost-free weather.
Handling & Storage
Avoid handling that may cause dust. Store in a dry place in the original packaging, not above normal room temperature. Keep out of reach of children.
Waste management
Leave at the packaging recycling center. The capsule is made of cardboard and the rest is sorted as plastic. Keep in mind that the Activator is tinted to make it easier to see where the treatment has been applied. The color will disappear over time. The treatment with Activator and Iron Vitriol is a chemical treatment and should not be compared to a surface treatment with stain or opaque paint.
The final color may vary depending on the type and quality of the wood.
FAQ
How do I apply the product? Example for a facade: Cover windows and doors with protective plastic. Dissolve the powder in lukewarm water and stir thoroughly. Stir at regular intervals. Apply with a brush or pressure sprayer. Always start from the bottom and work upwards!
Does the product work in places like shade? Yes! The product is perfect for just this purpose. Greying immediately!
Can the product be used on fences / trellises / impregnated wood? Yes, it works excellently! Remember to always apply from the bottom and upwards! Remember not to apply Herdins Activator & Iron Vitriol on decking.
