CombiColor Metal Paint is intended for use on bare metal or manually derusted steel surfaces, surfaces primed with CombiPrimer 3369/3380, CombiPrimer 3302 adhesion primer or previously painted substrates. CombiColor Metal is suitable for brush and roller application but can also be sprayed with air-atomised spray equipment. For steel structures in more corrosive environments, priming with Rust-Oleum® CombiPrimer metal primer 3369/3380 is recommended.

Which surfaces is the product suitable for?
COMBICOLOR® SL is perfect for metal, wood, iron, steel, aluminium, galvanised steel and other surfaces both indoors and outdoors. Ideal for furniture, fences, gates, doors, windows and hobby projects.
How long does the paint/product last?
When applied correctly, COMBICOLOR® SL provides long-lasting protection for many years. The product withstands weather, wind and UV radiation, making it ideal for outdoor use.
What does vapour-permeable mean?
COMBICOLOR® SL forms a dense, protective film that provides excellent rust protection and coverage. The product is specifically developed to protect metal and wood against corrosion and weather.
How much do I need?
Consumption varies depending on the porosity and colour of the substrate. Generally, 1 litre covers approximately 10-12 m² per coat. Calculate the area and plan for 1-2 coats depending on the substrate.
What temperature can I paint/apply in?
Apply COMBICOLOR® SL at temperatures between +10°C and +25°C. Avoid painting in direct sunlight, rain or high humidity. The surface must be dry.
Do I need to prime?
No, COMBICOLOR® SL is a 2-in-1 product that functions as both primer and topcoat. On a clean, rust-free surface, it can be applied directly without a separate primer.
Is the product environmentally friendly?

Can I paint/apply it myself or do I need a painter?
The product is user-friendly and can be applied by both DIYers and professional painters. Follow the instructions for the best results.
Pre-treatment
Before painting, the surface must be clean, dry and free from dust, dirt, grease, oil, loose rust and old flaking paint. Clean the surface thoroughly with a suitable detergent. Remove loose rust with a wire brush or sandpaper. For heavily corroded surfaces, more thorough pre-treatment is recommended. Lightly sand glossy surfaces for better adhesion. The surface must be completely dry before painting begins. Cover adjacent surfaces that are not to be painted.
Application
Stir the paint thoroughly before use. Apply COMBICOLOR® SL with a brush, roller or spray in even coats. Work systematically over the surface to avoid missed spots. Apply 1-2 coats depending on the substrate and desired coverage, with suitable drying time between coats according to the manufacturer's instructions (usually 4-6 hours). Avoid application in direct sunlight or at temperatures below +10°C. Keep the surface free from rain and moisture during drying. Clean tools with a suitable solvent immediately after use. Full curing is achieved after approximately 7 days.
