-The wall should be firm and clean, with no loose wallpaper flakes or filler dust.
-If you have not removed all layers of old wallpaper, which is recommended, it is a good idea to seal the wall by painting it with an insulating/blocking primer. This reduces the risk of the old wallpapers underneath bubbling up. Suitable paint includes Sigma Isotop Primer or Jotun’s wallpaper primer. Once painted, sand lightly and wash down with sugar soap.
-Where applicable, prime the wall, preferably white. The entire wall must have the same shade if the wallpaper is of the type mentioned in point 3 above.
