Description
Tinova Traditional Exterior is an alkyd oil-based paint intended for exterior painting of wooden facades. The oil-based opaque paint highlights the wood texture of the surface and provides a covering and even finish on both old and new wooden facades.
Tinova Traditional Exterior, when used in a system with Tinova Wood Base Oil and Tinova Traditional Primer Exterior, results in a lifespan of up to 8 years.
Treatment
The substrate must be well-cleaned and dry (max 16% moisture content).
Product Description
New painting
1. Impregnate with Tinova Wood Base Oil, especially end grain and exposed parts of the structure. Tinova Wood Base Oil can advantageously be used on the entire construction.
2. Prime the entire surface with Tinova Traditional Primer Exterior
3. Finish with 2 coats of Tinova Traditional Exterior
Repainting
1. Wash the surface with Original Målartvätt. In case of mold/algae growth, the surface must be treated with Original Hustvätt. Rinse thoroughly with water. Allow the surface to dry before continuing with painting.
2. Scrape away all old loose paint down to a firm substrate. Sand glossy surfaces to ensure good adhesion. Gray wood must be sanded down to firm, healthy wood.
3. Impregnate bare wood surfaces first with Tinova Wood Base Oil. Then prime with Tinova Traditional Primer Exterior.
4. Finish with 2 coats of Tinova Traditional Exterior. Previously stained surfaces should be washed/brushed and finished with 2 coats of Tinova Traditional Exterior. If necessary, prime first with Tinova Traditional Primer Exterior.
Other
Stir thoroughly in the can before starting work. Do not paint in direct sunlight or if there is a risk of rain or dew within the next few hours after the work is completed.

Do I need to prime? Yes, for new painting, prime the entire surface with Tinova Traditional Primer Exterior after impregnating with Tinova Wood Base Oil. When repainting, only prime bare wood surfaces that have been exposed after scraping.
Is the product environmentally friendly? Tinova Traditional Exterior contains max 399 g/l VOC (limit value 400 g/l for category A/e). The product meets current environmental requirements and is safe to use according to the instructions.
