Which surfaces is Hagmans Garage Floor Paint 1K suitable for?
The paint is intended for concrete floors indoors and outdoors – garages, carports, and light industrial environments. It is not suitable for wood or tile surfaces.
How long does the paint last?
With proper pre-treatment and application in two coats, the paint provides durable protection for several years. If you want to increase wear resistance further, for example if using studded tires, we recommend supplementing with Hagmans Tire Track Garage (Hjulspår Garage) over the paint.
How much paint do I need?
Estimate 8–10 m² per liter and coat. For a 20 m² garage and two coats, you need approx. 4–5 liters. Choose the 4L pack for a standard garage or 10L for larger areas.
What temperature can I paint in?
Apply at +5°C to +25°C. Avoid painting in high humidity (above 85%) as it can result in a matte and streaky surface.
Do I need to prime?
Untreated concrete should be primed with Hagmans Dust Binder 1K before painting for best adhesion. When painting over existing paint, it is sufficient to sand it matte and remove any loose paint.
Is the product environmentally friendly?
Yes, Hagmans Garage Floor Paint 1K is water-borne and contains no solvents, making it more environmentally friendly than traditional solvent-based floor paints. Cleaning is done easily with water.
Can I paint it myself or do I need a painter?
You can easily paint it yourself using a brush or roller. Follow the pre-treatment instructions carefully for a professional result. Remember to let the paint dry for at least a week before parking the car in the garage.
Pre-treatment
New concrete floors must have cured for at least 1 week and be dry and free from dirt, oil, and similar substances. Remove the cement skin by grinding, blasting, or acid washing. When painting over existing paint – sand the surface matte and remove all loose paint. Prime untreated concrete with Hagmans Dust Binder 1K.
Application
Apply with a brush or roller in two coats. Ensure good ventilation during work. Recoatable after 3 hours at 20°C. Fully cured in 5–7 days. Minimum surface temperature +5°C. Clean brushes and equipment with water immediately after use. Let the paint dry for at least a week before parking the car in the garage.
