Stålplast Liquid Polyester is a complete repair kit for fixing holes. With fiberglass mat and polyester resin, you get a strong, durable, and professional repair – whether it is for a car, caravan, boat, or home repair.
Area of use:
Repair of holes in car bodywork, caravans, boats (fiberglass, wood, metal), and other structures in the home.
Pre-treatment:
Clean the surfaces on and around the damage with, for example, Hagmans Silicone Remover or thinner. Grind away old rust with coarse sandpaper. Sand the area around the damage for better adhesion. Prime any bare metal with Hagmans Rust Protection Primer 1K spray or Hagmans CA-Primer.
How to do it
1. Cut a piece of fiberglass mat that overlaps the hole by at least 2 cm all around.
2. Carefully mix the desired amount of polyester with 2% hardener. NOTE! Do not mix more than can be used within 4–5 minutes.
3. Spread the mixture onto the surface where the fiberglass mat is to be placed. Work the mixture into the mat.
4. Place the mat over the damage and press firmly into place.
5. Apply an additional layer of polyester over the mat for full saturation.
6. Curing time: 6–8 minutes. The surface can be worked on after 20–30 minutes.

How long does the repair last?

The fiberglass mat should overlap the hole by at least 2 cm all around for sufficient reinforcement effect.
How much polyester do I need to mix?
Mix only as much as can be used within 4–5 minutes. Do not overdose the hardener – use exactly 2%.
What temperature can I work in?
The best working temperature is approx. +20°C. Lower temperatures prolong gel time and curing time. Avoid application in direct sunlight or on overheated surfaces.
Do I need to prime first?
Bare metal must be primed with Hagmans Rust Protection Primer 1K spray or Hagmans CA-Primer before the polyester is applied. Previously painted surfaces should be sanded and degreased.
