Gjøco water-borne clear varnish is a quick-drying and durable water-borne polyurethane varnish with light filters. Intended for indoor use on parquet, wooden floors, stairs, and railings.

Product description
Pre-treatment
The surface should be cleaned with Gjøco House Wash to remove grease, debris, and floor wax. Previously painted surfaces and factory-lacquered parquet should be lightly sanded with 150-180 grit sandpaper. Using a sanding machine ensures even and thorough sanding. Vacuum and wipe the surface with a lint-free damp cloth. On previously varnished/oiled surfaces, an adhesion test should be performed before application.
Application method
Stir the varnish thoroughly before and during use. Apply the varnish quickly and evenly along the grain. On new wood, apply at least 3 coats. On previously varnished surfaces, at least 2 coats are recommended. Raised wood fibers should be sanded away with fine sandpaper. Sanding dust must be thoroughly removed. Light intermediate sanding between coats is recommended to ensure adhesion.
Other information
The product must be stored frost-free in accordance with national regulations. Containers must be kept tightly closed and stored in a dry place at an even temperature. Avoid exposing the varnished surfaces to heavy wear (spills, pressure, etc.) during the first week after painting. Wait at least 3-4 days before placing heavy furniture, etc., on the painted surface and 1 week before placing rugs. Spilled water should be wiped up immediately. Water-borne varnishes have an off-white tint and are therefore best suited for light wood species. A test application is recommended.

Pre-treatment
The floor must be clean, dry, and freshly sanded. Sand the floor with a sanding machine in at least three stages using increasingly fine sandpaper (coarse sanding, intermediate sanding, and fine sanding with grit 100-120). Vacuum thoroughly between each sanding. After the final sanding, the floor should be vacuumed very carefully and wiped with a damp cloth. Let the floor dry completely before treatment. Wood moisture content should be max 10-12%. The room must be well-ventilated and have the right temperature (+15-25°C).
Application
Stir the varnish thoroughly before use. Apply Gjøco Clear Varnish 15 Water-borne with a brush or roller in thin, even coats along the grain. Work systematically across the surface and avoid stopping. Apply 2-3 thin coats with 3-4 hours between intervals (water-borne varnishes dry faster than oil-borne ones). Sand lightly between coats with fine sandpaper (grit 150-180) for the best result. Ventilate well during application and drying. The floor can be walked on carefully after 12-24 hours, but full curing takes 7 days. Avoid heavy load and wet cleaning during the curing period. Maintain the floor regularly according to the manufacturer's recommendations.
