NOTE not recommended on previous paint systems containing acrylate binders, and we also advise against painting with the Falu White (Faluvit) color on pressure-treated wood, as certain impregnating agents can affect the color.
Pre-treatment
New or factory-primed wood and pressure-treated wood: Remove any dirt and dust and ensure a paintable surface. Do not paint on fresh pressure-treated wood; factory-primed wood with a greasy primer is also less suitable as a substrate.
Previously painted surfaces:
Brush off all loose paint. Thick layers of paint should be scraped down. A thorough inspection should be carried out to check for defects. Above all, check for damage caused by moisture. Soft, rot-damaged wood should be replaced and gray, weather-worn wood removed. Ensure the facade is dry before painting, with a moisture content of no more than 17%.
For other types of substrates, consult your paint dealer.
Painting
Stir the paint well. On new wood, first prime with one coat of thinned paint, 5–10% water. Wait at least 24 hours before final painting with one coat of unthinned paint. Paint thinly, work the paint in well, and paint the entire length of the panel board. Cover details on the house that are not to be painted with plastic. Leave the protection in place until the paint is fully water-resistant. When changing colors on a facade previously painted with distemper paint, it is important that the original distemper is brushed off thoroughly so that the older pigments do not affect the new paint. Verify that the desired color produced by the tinting system is approved by us (see the home page).

FAQ
What surfaces is Falu Vapen Fasadfärg suitable for? Wooden facades and fences. Suitable for planed wood and previously distemper-painted surfaces. Not recommended on substrates with acrylate binders.
Do I need a primer? No – the paint requires no primers. On new wood, it is sufficient to make the first coat with 5–10% thinned paint.
How much paint do I need? 1 liter covers approx. 4–6 m². A 10L bucket therefore covers approx. 40–60 m².
What temperature can I paint in? Paint on a dry substrate with a maximum of 17% moisture content. Avoid painting in direct sunlight, strong wind, or when there is a risk of frost.
Can I paint on pressure-treated wood? Yes, but do not paint on fresh pressure-treated wood – wait until it is dry. Falu White is not recommended on pressure-treated wood.
Is the paint available in other colors? Yes – in addition to the standard colors (Falun Red, Black, Falu White, etc.), RAL and NCS tints can be ordered.
