Preparations:
Glass rebates, glazing beads, and glass must be dry, clean, and free from grease. Glazing should not be performed at temperatures below +5°C, unless the contact surfaces are first heated or dried. Untreated or pressure-impregnated wood must be seal-primed. The exterior of the frame must be surface-treated so that the wood does not absorb moisture. Glaze-treated wood must be maintained every one or two years. Dip priming is not sufficient.
Application:
Dip-primed windows must be surface-treated on-site immediately after installation. After some time, cracking may occur in the putty. This is not a material defect, but the result of insufficient seal priming, which allows the wood to absorb the oil from the putty. Therefore, be diligent with the seal priming.
Cleaning:
Stains of Linseed Oil Putty are removed and tools are cleaned with white spirit.
