Transparent oil-based wood stain that highlights the structure of the wood.
Gjøco Herregård Exclusive Oljebeis is a thixotropic alkyd oil-based wood stain with added film preservatives against mold. It penetrates well into the wood and provides effective impregnation while forming a weather-resistant film. Herregård Exclusive Oljebeis is used on new or previously stained wood. Can also be used on pressure-treated material. No priming is required.

Product description
Pre-treatment:
Before painting, it is important that the surface is clean and dry.
New wood that has been untreated for more than 4 weeks should be cleaned and wire-brushed before further treatment.
It is not necessary to prime the wood, but for extra protection and longer durability, it is recommended to first apply Gjøco Oljegrunning klar (clear oil primer).
If the wood has been previously stained, it should be cleaned with Gjøco Krafttvätt to remove grease and impurities.
Surfaces that are damaged or worn by weather and wind should be wire-brushed/sanded to remove loose stain and wood fibers.
Only spots should be spot-stained before applying the stain over the entire surface.
All end grain should be properly saturated with oil-based primer, with 3–4 coats applied wet-on-wet.
For planed wood, timber, hard and/or glossy surfaces, as well as side edges and grooves on exterior cladding, wire-brushing/sanding may be necessary to ensure adhesion.
For best edge coverage, sharp edges should be rounded off before priming.
Application:
Apply at least 2 coats on new, unplaned wood. At least 3 coats are required on new planed wood and timber. On previously stained surfaces, apply 1–2 coats as needed. South and west-facing walls generally wear out faster and therefore need more frequent treatment than others. To avoid patchiness, apply the stain over the entire length of the board and ensure that all end grain is sufficiently saturated (3–4 coats).
Storage:
Store the stain upright and in a dry place, and ensure the lid is properly closed to avoid spills and drying out. The stain must be transported and stored upright, dry, and frost-free.
Waste disposal:
Liquid paint must not be poured into drains or into nature but should be taken to an approved collection point for hazardous waste. Empty, clean, and dry packaging can be taken to an approved recipient. Also, ensure that you follow the regulations for handling hazardous waste.
Other information:
Any oil that has risen to the surface should be stirred thoroughly before use. Always use the same batch number on the same surface; if necessary, the contents of cans with different production numbers can be mixed before use to avoid differences in gloss and color.
Surfaces previously treated with linseed oil products should be cleaned down to bare wood to avoid blistering. Avoid applying stain to a semi-dry surface with dew, as this can cause dull spots, or on a wet or semi-dry surface in sunlight, which can cause blistering. Do not use the stain on edged wood.

Drying (23 °C, 50% R.H.):
Dust dry: 6 hours. Low temperatures can result in longer drying times.
Minimum recoating interval: 24 hours. This can vary depending on temperature, humidity, wind conditions, and film thickness.
Minimum application temperature: -5 °C. The surface must be dry and free from frost.
