Ideal for floors
Over 30 years ago, Osmo started manufacturing hardwax oil; the name of the "Original" product series speaks for itself. Osmo Hardwax Oil Original is perfect for wooden floors and provides a beautiful surface where the wood's natural character is preserved. The treated surface becomes water and dirt-repellent, highly durable, and resistant to spills. The hardwax oil is ideal for solid wood floors, parquet, OSB, or cork, but is also suitable for furniture, paneling, glulam, etc.
Protects and beautifies
The hardwax oil penetrates into the wood but also forms a protective layer on the surface. It is easy to renovate a surface that has been treated with hardwax oil, even parts of a surface. Osmo Hardwax Oil Original is harmless to humans, animals, and plants in a dry state. It is also approved for toys according to the European standard EN-71.3 and is available in matte, semi-matte, satin-matte, or glossy finishes.
How it works
No special skills are required to apply Osmo Hardwax Oil Original. Either use Osmo Hardwax Oil Original for both base and top coats, or only for the top coat after staining with another product from Osmo's range. Remember that floors, furniture, etc., that have previously been surface-treated with another product must be sanded before surface treatment begins.
Always follow the step-by-step instructions and, in case of any doubt, always perform a test application.
How to maintain the lightness of pine floors
All types of wood mature over time, especially if they are exposed to a lot of sunlight. Pine floors yellow and become darker over time, which can be counteracted by simple means.
Add a little white pigment
Once the floor has been sanded, the surface is treated with a pigmented hardwax oil (3040, White). The white hardwax oil contains only a small amount of pigment and therefore preserves the lightness of the wood without creating a white appearance. Only one coat should be applied. The pigmented hardwax oil is then finished with a clear product that gives the surface protection against wear.
Seal the floor
The pigment is sealed using an unpigmented hardwax oil, in the example Hardwax Oil Original, 3062, Matte.
