-The wall must be firm and clean, with no loose wallpaper flakes or filler dust.
-If you have not removed all layers of old wallpaper, which is recommended, it is a good idea to prime the wall by painting it with an insulating/sealing paint. This is done to reduce the risk of the old wallpaper bubbling once you hang the new wallpaper. Suitable paint is Sigma Isotop Primer or Jotun's Wallpaper Primer. Once painted, sand lightly and wash off with sugar soap.
-Where applicable, prime the wall, preferably white. The entire wall must be the same shade if the wallpaper is of the type mentioned in point 3 above.
